YOU ARE CALLED AND ANOINTED!
Every believer is a minister, and that is clear from the scriptures (2Cor.5:18, 2Cor.3:6, Rev.1:6, 2Cor.5:20, 1Pet.4:10, Eph.4:12). God made it so from the foundations of the world that all believers be ministers but not all Christian ministers in the same cadre. The theme “You are called and anointed” seems to be a topic that is for those called into the five-fold ministry, so which makes it easier for you to conclude that this isn’t for me and would definitely go for would-be pastors, apostles, prophets etc.
But it would interest you to know that the whole creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed (Rom.8:19). And the scripture makes it clear to us that for all who are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God (Rom.8:14). Putting the two scriptures together, it’s safe to conclude that the whole creation is awaiting the manifestation of those that are led by the Spirit of God. You are a divine answer to someone’s predicament. You are the answer to someone’s prayer. You are the solution generations have been waiting for. Brace up! Because you’ve been called and anointed.
WHY MUST THE SONS BE SPIRIT LEAD?
Luke 1:35 – The Angel said unto her, The HOLY GHOST will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and so the Holy Thing which shall be born of you will be called the son of God. Luke 1:38 – Then Mary said, Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord; let it be done to me according to THY WORD. And the Angel left her. From the above scriptures, two factors were necessary for the birth of Jesus: SPIRIT and WORD.
When God was going to create the world in Genesis Gen.1:2 – …And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. Gen.1:3 – And God said, Let there be light and there was light. The Spirit of God moved but the word had to be spoken so that the Spirit and the word would put together the creation. The word is quickened by the Spirit.
The creation of the new man was also by the Spirit and the Word. Being born of water and the Spirit means being born of the word and Spirit. John 3:5 –Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say unto you, unless one is BORN OF WATER AND THE SPIRIT, he cannot enter the Kingdom of God.” 1Peter1:23 – Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, BY THE WORD OF GOD, which lives and abides forever. Eph.5:26 – that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of WATER BY THE WORD. Every advancement the new man makes, comes from a breakthrough with the word and Spirit because those are the constituent elements that made him.
You are called with a holy calling and you have an anointing of the Holy Ghost for where you’ve been called to make impact. Every assignment has a birthplace. A friend said, “When God pulls, prepares and pushes a minister to a place, it’s for a specific purpose. If there were no task at hand, he would not pull, prepare and push you to a place.”
WHERE EXACTLY?
The Bible talks about the apostles how they turned THE WORLD upside down (Acts.17:6), For even the WHOLE CREATION waits expectantly for the manifestation of the sons of God (Rom.8:19), You are the light of the WORLD (Matt.5:14), The field is the WORLD, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom (Matt.13:38), And He said to them, Go into ALL THE WORLD and preach the gospel to every creature, For God so loved the WORLD (John 3:16), For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life TO THE WORLD (John 6:333)… I could go on and on. The list is endless! From the above scriptures, it’s obvious that majority of our assignments is to the world. Don’t be too comfortable with just loafing around within the four walls of the church. Your assignment is out there. The church is primarily a place where you are equipped for your calling (Eph.4:12). The Levites are just a single tribe out of the twelve tribes of Israel. Not all the tribes of Israel are Levites, just one of them; which buttresses the fact that we can’t all be pulpit ministers but we can all find our areas of calling, start enforcing Kingdom principles there and start taking that world for our God. Allow me say this; the best person to disciple a banker is not a pastor but a fellow banker that has the life of God in him. The Holy Spirit gets excited when the church overflows to its environment (community) – outside the church. You’d also agree with me that majority of Jesus’ miracle were done outside the synagogue.
WHERE IS MY PLACE?
According to Sociology and Anthropology, every modern society can be divided into the following spheres of influence:
Arts, Culture, Entertainment and Sports
Business and Finance
Church and Religion
Distribution and Media
Education (Science and Technology)
Family and Homes
Government and Law
I believe so strongly that one of the spheres of influence has your name written on it, your destiny/purpose is calling your name. Your area of influence needs you to be better. There is a mission, assignment for you with your name written on it. Embrace your calling, find your place and take it over for our God. Nigeria can’t be better without you. Allow me say this, you might be having this question in your heart; Why should a Christian go into politics and government?. You could study the life of Joseph and Daniel to learn the principles they used during their time. Let me say this, any individual or group of persons that seizes the economic and political power of a nation controls the nation and would not hesitate to enforce his doctrines/beliefs.
WHAT IS MY EDGE (ADVANTAGE)?
Now you may want to ask, what is my edge? The same constituent element that created you is your edge. He that is not born of the Spirit cannot hear the voice of the Spirit. You’d see from our opening scripture that the whole creation is awaiting the manifestation of those that are led by the Spirit of God. THE BELIEVER’S EDGE IS THE LEADING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. Your success is a function of your connection (John 15:1-6). The branch would naturally bear fruit because of its connection to the vine. The branch does not sweat to bring forth fruit. Christ is the vine and because you are connected to Him, the same LIFE and LIGHT in Christ is in you.
In Ezekiel 47:1-12, wherever the river flows to, there abounds life (Ezek.47:9). And the river takes its source from the sanctuary (Ezekiel 47:12). Any dead object that comes in contact with the river of life jerks back to life. Now, that sanctuary is you because your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1Cor.6:19). Jesus declared on the last and great day of the feast that “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water (John 7:37-38).” But he spoke this concerning the Spirit. The rivers of living water is the Holy Ghost which now dwells in you because you are a believer.
And this is the TESTIMONY: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God (1John5:10-13).
And so it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit (1Cor.15:45).
You have eternal life! You are a life-giving Spirit! What you have is the reality, not an illusion!
You may not be a pulpit minister; your calling may be to the market-place like Bezalel (Exodus 31:1-6, Exodus 35:31-33), Daniel (Dan.5:11-14), Exo.28:3, Aholiab (Exo.35:34-35) etc. Embrace your calling and take it for our God. You are the solution Nigeria needs.
In the parable of the talents, the first two servants received the same commendation – because they produced the same ratio (Matt.25:20 – 24). If the servant with the one talent had worked with his talent and doubled it, he’d have received the same commendation the servant with the five talent got. Selah! Come out of the crowd and fulfill your calling.
Let me close with these words from one of my revered personalities – “What God has called you to do may be imitated but can’t be duplicated”. YOU ARE CALLED AND ANOINTED!

IT TAKES MORE THAN TWO LEGS TO RUN THIS RACE.

IMG-20131119-WA000.

In the first chapter of Genesis we read, “And God saw that it was good…” (Gen.1:4, 10, 12, 18, 25, 31). Adam was enjoying a great relationship with God but because he didn’t have a human companion, God said it wasn’t a good thing (Gen.2:18). God designed you with two voids. One is a void, only He can fill. The other is a void only the right people (destiny helpers, covenant friends) can fill. And you can’t fill either void with things like jobs, houses, cars or money.
Man was created to need God. Man wasn’t created to be independent of God. Man, even in his crave for Independence was created to be dependent on God. For all intents and purposes, He was fashioned to be dependent on and connected to God. (John 15:4-5, Psalm 91:1).
Enoch walked with God; then he was no more, because God took him away. Gen.5:24(NIV)
Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked with God Gen.6:9 (NIV). But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. Luke 1:30(NIV)
For nothing is impossible with God. Luke 1:37(NIV)
And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and men. Luke 2:52 (NIV)
Jesus replied “What is impossible with men is possible with God” Luke 18:27(NIV)
Jesus looked at them and said “With man, this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God” Mark 10:27(NIV)
We read this expression “ …and he died ” eight(8) times in Gen.5 and in the middle of that we read about one man who didn’t die, that was Enoch who walked with God. In the middle of death that had been reigning in the previous generations, there was life and that was the man who walked with God (“And Enoch walked with God…”). For 65 years, Enoch lived a life outside God but for the remaining 300 years of his life, he walked with God. Enoch became the first man to demonstrate that you could also walk with God outside of Eden. Enoch didn’t make any meaning out of life, until he started to walk with God. And then, Enoch stood out in his generation because he was connected to divinity. With man, is the realm of impossibilities; with God, is the realm of possibilities. Therefore, it takes a man that is connected to the God of all possibilities to fly high into the world of no limits.
In the beginning, God… Gen.1:1
The first entity that was introduced in the beginning was not the devil or man but God. He was in the beginning before the beginning began. God is the foundation of all creation including man. He existed before time began. The creator existed before the creation. He is not the wisest God; he is the ONLY WISE God. Adam had the same creative ability as God when he was connected to God (Gen.1:26, Gen.2:20) but he lost it when he fell. (Isaiah 59:1-2, Gen.3:7-9). God must have first place in your life. The solid rock can only be found in him, all other ground is sinking sand. He must be enthroned in your life.
Moses had only a rod, but a rod with God parted the red sea (Exo.14:16-31). The woman had only a little pot of oil, but that pot of oil with God paid all her debts (2Kings 4:1-7). David had only five smooth stones, but these with God brought down Goliath (1Sam.17:40-51). The poor widow was scrapping the bottom of the barrel, but with God the handful of meal kept her child, herself and the prophets until the rain came (1kings 17:10-16). The boy had only five tiny loaves and two small fish, but with God they were enough to feed five thousand men, besides women and children with twelve baskets left over (Matt.14:17-21). Paul was apersecutor, but with God he became the greatest apostle of all time (Acts 8:1, Acts 8:3, Acts 9:4, 1Cor.15:9-
10). Jephthar was the son of an harlot but with God he became a deliverer and a mighty man of valour (Judges 11:1, 29, 32-33). Peter had been toiling all night but when God stepped in, he had a net-breaking harvest (Luke 5:1-8).
We were not created to work in isolation. The man at the pool of Bethesda couldn’t get his healing because there was nobody to lift him to the pool, those that were more advantaged will get to the pool before him (John 5:7). We must realize that our life is a journey we must travel with a deep consciousness of God. We are undone without God. It takes more than two legs to run this race.
Now that we’ve settled it that the first void that needs to be filled is God. Let’s move to the second void which is the right people. No form of accomplishment in life is ever the result of individual isolated effort, but the product of the contribution and corporate support of many people in our lives.
Let’s begin by expounding Mark 2:1-5,11
V1. And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the
house.
V2. And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive
them, no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word unto them. V3. And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four. V4. And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.
V5. When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee. V11. I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house.
V12. And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.
From the above scripture, we’ll discover that He came late and lame but he was healed first. God saw “their faith”. You’ve been trying your faith but you have to get to the level of OUR faith by agreeing with people concerning the matter.
The man was lame (2 legs), carried by his four friends (8 legs) i.e. 8legs+2legs = 10 legs. 2 is the number of agreement, 8 is the number of new beginning, 10 is the ordinal completion of numbers. When he agreed with his friend, God gave him new beginning which brought about completion (wholeness). The man was carried by his friends; When grace comes upon you, then your mistakes and inadequacies no longer matter, it means you are covered.
Now let’s analyse the ten legs.
i. You need two legs of your mentor (Prov.1:1 – The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, King of Israel). All kings must be a son to someone. Solomon the SON of David, KING of Israel. Solomon was the greatest King but he was still a son to David.
Luke 24:32 – And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?
Your mentor is someone who speaks to you and your heart burns e.g. Paul & Timothy (1Tim.1:2, 2Tim.1:21, 2Tim.2:1, Phil.2:19-23), Solomon & David (Prov.1-3, Prov.4:20-27, Prov.5:1, Prov.6:1, Prov.7:1), Paul & Onesimus (Phil.1:10), Peter & Marcus (1Pet.5:13), Moses &Joshua (Josh.1:2, Deut.3:28), Elijah & Elisha (1Kings 19:16-21, 2Kings 3:11), Naomi & Ruth (Ruth 1-4).
ii. You need two legs of a protégée – In as much as you are a son to someone, you must also be King to someone. You must be a person of influence and impact.
2Ti 2:2 And the things that you have heard from me (mentor) among many witnesses, commit
these to faithful men (protégées) who will be able to teach others also.
The scriptures says “how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious oil upon the head, Running down on the beard, The beard of Aaron,
Running down on the edge of his garments.” (Psalm 133:1-3)
It started from the head, to the beards and to the edge of his garments – a top to bottom approach. What has been poured on your head by your mentors must flow to your beard and to the edge of your garments (protégées). E.g. Jesus Christ & the 12 disciples (Mark 3:14-19), Ananias & Paul (Acts.9:17-20), Barnabas & Paul (Acts 9:26-27, Acts 11:25-26), Paul & Silas (Acts 15:34, 40,), Paul & Luke (2Tim.4:11).
iii. You need two legs of a colleague, a friend, a counterpart, a covenant friend or a destiny helper. “Iron sharpens iron; so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend” (Prov.27:17).Your seed
of destiny needs to be stirred up like Elizabeth and Mary (Luke 1:36-56), David and Jonathan (ISam.18:1, 19:1-6), Paul and Peter (Gal.2:11-20), Paul & Titus (2Cor.7:6, 13-15, 12:18).
iv. You need two legs of your spouse, fiancé or fiancée. (*** except you want to be a eunuch or celibate***).
Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm; But how can one be warm alone? Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is
not quickly broken. (Eccl.4:11-12)
Let your fountain be blessed, And rejoice with the wife of your youth. (Prov.5:18)
He who finds a wife finds a good thing, And obtains favor from the Lord. (Prov.18:22) Houses and riches are an inheritance from fathers, But a prudent wife is from the Lord.
(Prov.19:14).
Your spouse is not a person that slows you down, he/she is an helpmeet suitable for you. He/She is suitable, adapted, and complementary for you. Your spouse is comparable to you. For example Priscilla and Aquila (Acts 18:1-3, 18:24-28, Rom.16:3-4), Abraham and Sarah (1Peter.3:1-7).
v. Your two legs. This is very important because the kind of mentor, protégée, spouse, covenant friend you get is a direct implication of who you are.
I will sing of the LORD’s great love forever; with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations. (Psalm 89:1 – NIV)
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna to eat. And I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it.” ‘ (Rev.2:17). Don’t lose your individuality. The key to all inter-personal relationships is the quality of your intra- personal relationship. God starts with you first; you are the first prophet of your life. Samuel heard the voice from God first but when he couldn’t comprehend it, he went to ask Eli (1Sam.3:3-10).
In the body of Christ, the Lord will bring supernatural relationships into your life, people that have crossed a bridge that you have not crossed. He’ll tie you together and connect you to get across that bridge they have been across. Someone once said “The reason I can see farther than my mates is because I am on the shoulders of those that have gone ahead of me”. This was further corroborated when someone said recently that “Whenever you connect with people higher than you, you save yourself some unnecessary twists and turns of the journey of life and destiny” SupernaturalRelationships is so important in the body of Christ (Acts 1:4, Acts 4:31, Heb.10:25, Acts 2:1, Acts 13:1-2, Deut.34:9, John 2:1-11).
It takes 10 legs to run this. You can’t fill this void with jobs, houses or material possessions. God didn’t create you to make it in isolation. The body enjoys from what each part contributes. Keep your eyes open, Pray about it and Reach out to them. Honour the Supernatural Relationships God has placed in your life.

DON’T BURN OUT!

“…looking unto Jesus, the author and the finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Heb.12:4)
Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we are in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God – he could put up with anything along the way: cross, shame, whatever.
Many a times in life we pass through certain difficulties and challenges on our way to fulfilling purpose and it looks as if God is silent. Sometimes you begin to ask yourself, ‘Am I sure God has called me?, ‘Am I sure God loves me, Am I sure God has not forsaken me?, If God is for me, then why are all these things happening to me?’. In fact at times like this, believing won’t make sense and giving-up would seem to be wisdom. You’d begin to wonder the reason behind all the roadblocks despite the fact that you serve an almighty God. Joseph dreamt that “the sun, moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to him” (Gen.37:1-10) but God never showed him that he would be sold to the Egyptians, be a slave in Potiphar’s house, and be thrown into prison. From the day the dream was birthed, he faced three different hurdles before he got to the palace. And those events shaped his life into becoming what God wanted him to be.
See, whatever you might be enduring now is a training process. Joseph had to endure for 13 years before he could get to the palace (Gen.37:2, Gen.41:46). One of the catalysts for endurance is – “don’t lose sight of where God is taking you”, once focus is lost, endurance is out of the window.
Don’t be surprised to find somewhere down the road that your greatest trial not only becomes your greatest victory, but it also becomes the very testimony that sets others free. Don’t run from trials, take it full-face. They are examinations you must pass. Endure is gotten from the Greek word “Hupomeno” which means to stay under, undergo, bear trials, have fortitude, persevere, abide, endure, suffer, tarry behind. What you are passing through is part of the plan. The pain, the trials are prerequisites to your new level. A box of gift has to be broken before the gift is released.
John 12:24 wraps it up, “Verily, Verily, I say unto you, except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abides alone: but if it die, it brings forth much more fruit”. Harvest never follows sowing. Waiting follows sowing. Waiting is the proof of trust. And at the place of waiting, you’ll encounter trials, challenges but your harvest in view becomes your encouragement. Our cross will be determined by whatever pain and suffering and trouble which will yet come to us because of our obedience to the will of God. But beyond the cross is resurrection and the manifestation of his presence. Beyond the cross there is resurrection life and power. There is no Easter Sunday without a Good Friday. If you can’t endure the night, you can’t see the morning.
John 19:14 says that “Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden; and in the garden a new sepulchre, wherein was never man yet laid.” In the place where he was crucified, there was a garden – the proximity of the cross and the garden. There is always a garden when we share in the self-surrender of our Lord. If we do not have to endure, then there is no cross in it. Was there ever a cross that was convenient? Pure gold put in the fire comes out of it proved pure. Genuine faith put through suffering comes out proved genuine.
When Jesus wraps this all up, it’s your faith not your gold (money, possessions) that God will have on display as evidence of his victory.
Hold on! Help is on the way. You can’t give up on now. God’s got your back on this.
